Material hardness, arbor, dry or wet use and hole position all affect the result. Define the job before choosing the bit.

5 STEPS / STANDARD METHOD

Reduce slipping, chipping and overheating

  1. 01Measure and markCheck behind the tile for wiring, pipes and structural obstructions.
  2. 02Establish the cutUse a guide, or start gently at an angle to form a crescent groove.
  3. 03Feed steadilyBring the bit upright, keep speed even and never use hammer mode.
  4. 04Control heatUse water or cooling pauses as specified and clear debris regularly.
  5. 05Finish carefullyReduce pressure near breakthrough; finish from the back when practical.
SAFETY NOTE

Wear eye, respiratory and hearing protection. Secure the workpiece and use a side handle. Follow the manufacturer’s maximum RPM, cooling method and material rating.
